Valencia Basket opens the Copa del Rey Gran Canaria 2018 facing Iberostar Tenerife in quarterfinals
Valencia Basket will open the Copa del Rey Gran Canaria 2018 and will face Iberostar Tenerife in the quarterfinals game 1 (Thursday 15, 19:00h, Gran Canaria Arena, # 0) in an unprecedented match in this tournament that turns the black and yellow team into the 12th different rival of Valencia Basket in this competition. The taronja squad arrives at the tournament in a good moment of results after chaining three wins in a row and has increased its number of professional players available to ten with the entry in the group of the point guard Sergi Garcia.
They have not entered in the call for this tournament the injured players Guillem Vives, Antoine Diot, Sam Van Rossom and Latavious Williams. The Valencia Basket captain Rafa Martinez equals in this edition of the Copa del Rey the nine participations of Víctor Luengo with Valencia Basket and will become with his first basket in the highest scorer of the history of the Club in this tournament. In a squad that has a champion of the Copa del Rey (San Emeterio in 2009), all players have experience in this competition except Erick Green and the 2nd team rookies Hlinason and Puerto.
